Rupert was born in Bloomsbury and trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He toured extensively but the main body of his theatre work was with the Citizens Theatre Glasgow where he worked, on and off, for twenty one years. Rupert’s television work includes ongoing dramas such as The Bill, Holby City, Eastenders as well as one off dramas and mini series. His films include Shakespeare in Love, Mrs. Brown, The Young Poisoner’s Handbook, The Wisdom of Crocodiles, Quadrophenia and Scum. Rupert has worked in voiceover since the seventies, and his commercials could be heard daily on radio and television. Other voice work includes over sixty audiobooks, TV trailers, ADR, animations, video games, dubbing, and ELT. Rupert did extensive voice work on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and managed to mention each of his children’s names. His proudest moment was sitting watching it in the cinema with them.
