Alisdair trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has worked extensively on stage and screen. He was Ser Donnel Waynwood in Game of Thrones. The first documentary Alisdair narrated for the BBC, Pompeii – The Last Day, was nominated for a BAFTA and won an Emmy.  He has since narrated over 300 programmes, establishing himself as one of the most recognisable voices in factual television. His long association with the BBC has continued alongside work for National Geographic, Discovery and Channel 4. His work for WMR has been distributed worldwide. Alisdair has voiced advertising campaigns for BMW, Ford, American Airlines, The Sunday Times and ITV. He has worked regularly with Big Finish on audio drama series including Dr Who and voiced Richard in the Oscar-nominated, BAFTA-winning Short Animation, The Bigger Picture. He is the voice of Otto in the hit video game Final Fantasy 16, released in 2023.
